Paul Chong

Paul Chong is a landscape photographer in Shanghai. He has dedicated his life capturing the beauty of nature and scenery in which he creates a colourful photographs. His work is shown in museums, magazines, websites, brochures and even flyers. I find that his work on landscapes is very effective and think that it look very picturesque. I would love to be able to take photographs of this quality because I find that they are very inspiring.
This is one of Paul Chong's photographs,  I like this photo because he has used the weather in an effective way as he has taken the photo this under some trees meaning that we then have the shadows from the tree and I think this makes the photo slightly unusual however looks very good and professional. I also like the colour range in this photo as the greens and the reds in the trees look very nice together due to being quite different colours.

This is very similar to the photo above due to again involving the shadows of the trees however the composition of this image is very different due to this not being a regular shape for a photograph. In this photo we can also see the light coming through the trees and I think this makes the image look very warm and the colours look very vibrant.

This photo is quite unusual due to the angle at which it was taken, most of he other photos I have looked at of Paul Chong's he has taken them from roughly standing height however this photo was taken from near the group however I think this work very well due to the flowers and colours on the ground of this photo. In this photo, Chong has also included the sun coming through the trees which makes it similar to his other photos.

This photo is almost identical to my first example of his work, this is because the trees are very similar and again Chong has included the shadows of the trees on the ground, however in this photo, there is slightly more red in the trees and I think the contrast between the green and the red brings the picture out.

Influence
Paul Chong's work influenced one of my initial shoots of a forest, I was influenced by the sun shining through the trees and have used this style in one of my photos. Although I find this style very interesting and think the photos turn out very well, I did not feel that this style of photo is how I wanted to go with my project and so my later photos are not influenced very much by his style however I think I could have followed this style of photos very easily as I know of some very interesting areas in which I could have taken photos similar to this.
Summary
Overall, I find Paul Chongs work to be very good and I would like to experiment with the style in other aspects of my photography because I feel that these photos are of a very high standard and would love to come out with pictures similar to these.
