Jason D. Page

Jason D. Page is a light painter who has been creating his work since 2004, he works in a three-dimensional space to capture light paintings. He says that every light painting is unique and unrepeatable. He is known for shooting alone at night, deep into the woods, he says he prefers to do this as the fear that he feels allows his imagination to run wild with him and this is where he feels he can create his best work.
This is one of Jason D. Page's photographs, by the looks of it, this was produced using a sparkler, firework or maybe even catherine wheel and he has extended the exposure to capture all of the sparks. I think this is a very good image and I would love to be able to take images similar to this however this may be difficult as at this time of year, it is not very easy to be able to buy these items however I will attempt to buy these as I think this work is very effective.

This is another of Page's photographs, this is very similar to the image above due to the shape in the background however within this image, Page has included a model and he has done this in a very clever way by making her the same colour as the shape in the middle of the sparkler object. I also think the use of the umbrella on the model is very clever because as it then makes the sparks look like rain and this makes the image work together.

This is another example of his work however this is slightly different because he has used a cube rather than a circular shape and he has also made the image light enough to be able to see the location of the shape. This is a very simplistic image however I think it would be reasonably easy to replicate and I would like to try this style.

This image links very well to all of the images above because not only has the photographer used the shape from the very first image but he has also included a model and along with this he has left the image quite light meaning we can see the location of the photograph and see that it was taken on a beach and I think this makes the image very unusual.

Influence
I was influenced by Jason D. Page's work and due to this I would like to take some photos using sparklers as I think that these are very effective as a Creative Use of Light photograph because the entire thing creates a very complex yet interesting image.
Summary
Overall, I feel that Jason D. Page's work is very unusual and I would like to look at it more as I feel that this style creates very interesting images and I would like to feel comfortable taking these images as I feel that this could be a very good style to follow.
