Image Bank - Glow Sticks

The images below are all examples of glow stick photography, personally I think that the images of glow sticks against the dark background are very effective because they stand out very well and I think this would also be rather basic to photograph meaning I could produce a large amount of images. I also think the images of the glow stick within the water or glasses or bottles are very effective because they make the water glow and I think that leads to a very effective photograph. 

I like this image because all of the glow sticks are separated. I think this makes the photo look better because you can see all of the singular colours however I think it would be better if this was edited slightly better as you can see a glow around each glow stick and it makes the image look slightly out of focus.

I like this photo because the colours are all very bright and vibrant, I think this is a very effective photo because of the composition and the angle that the photographer has shot this. I also like how some areas of the glow sticks are also out of focus as I think this makes the image very interesting and this would be relatively easy to replicate. 

I also really like this image because it is very different to all of my other example glow stick images due to not being able to see all of the colour very easily. I also really like the composition of this photo because I like how the photo was taken from below the glow sticks and then you can see some different shaped glow sticks in the background. Another aspect that I think makes this image very good is the reflections of the glow sticks in the surface they are on.

Image Bank - UV paint

These images are all portraits of people with UV paint or makeup on their faces. I think these are very effective because I could relate my work into beauty a little more however this still links into my previous influences of using glow sticks ands torches for light graffiti as I have to shine a UV light on the makeup to make it glow for the photograph. I also think these images would be a good idea of something to photograph during my final exam as this could be quite time consuming however would make a very effective image for a final piece. 

This is a very different example of UV paint  photography to the other images where the paint has been applied in a particular way. With this the paint has been sponged on and the colours all mix into each other however I think this makes the photo very different yet effective as the whole face is covered so it is therefore very colourful. 

This image shows UV flicked on a model, this is a very good image for creative use of light because the paint glows with the light shone onto it, this is also very good because everything except the paint is dark which makes the colour stand out and the contrast looks very good in the image. I also like the composition of this as the model is sat slightly sideways and she has her eyes shut meaning her eyes are dark whereas if she had her eyes open then you would see the whites of her eyes and I don't think the image would have the same effect.

Image Bank - Natural Light

These images are slightly different from all of the other images I have been looking at because the first image is more realistic than the others due to being able to see the women's arm and the background behind the candles. I would like to attempt this type of image due to other images I have been looking at having a darker background and there being a much darker contrast between the light and the background. The second image is also very different to my other images due to not being dark, I like this because I have some own images which I think look slightly like this with the  sun light coming through the trees and being very bright. I would like to try some further images similar to these as I think they are very bright and eye-catching however this would be dependent on the weather. 

This image shows a women lighting candles, I like this image and think it fits into the topic of creative use of light very well because the flames of the candles are very vibrant and there is also the light on the  wall behind which I think looks very good. 

I like this image of the light coming through the trees as I think it looks very natural and would be very easy to replicate. I would like to look at this type of photography as I think it is very effective whilst being quite easy to replicate however this is very weather dependent so I would need to complete this on a sunny day which may not be possible. 

This is similar to the image before of the light shining through the trees however I prefer this image to the image above as the colours of the trees etc are more evident and the whole image has a very similar colour range which I think is good because it makes the composition look very effective.

Image Bank - Light Graffiti - No Shape

These images are again examples of light graffiti however there is not general shape within these images, they are much more random. I think this will be effective as a shoot because it is very easy to produce and I think it also looks very good how it is random. I also like the variety of colours within these images and think they are very eye-catching and good examples of creative use of light. All I would need to create images similar to these would be torches or lights of some sort and I feel that I could do this easily and this would be a relatively easy starting point for myself. 

I really like this photo because I like how all of the torches are different and also different colours, I think this looks good because you can see the lines of light from the torches and the different pattern of light bulbs in the torches. I think this would be quite an easy image to produce as all I would need is a few torches to create an effective image. 

I lilt this image because I like how it is quite colourful and also looks very confusing and difficult to produce. I have no idea how the photographer created this as the light goes all over the place and there is also so much going on that it much have taken a while to do. I would not like to try and shoot an image like this because I feel that it would be very difficult and I would not be able to make it look as natural as this. 

I think this is a very good example of light photography. I like how the man creating the image is visible as I think it makes it looks very realistic however I also like how there is more than one circle and that they are all different colours. I would like to be able to do this however I do not think I would be able to. 

Image Bank - Light Graffiti - Writing

These two images are examples of light graffiti showing letters, again tees might be slightly difficult due to the person being unable to see the shape they are tracing however I would like to attempt this as I feel the alphabet or a word of some sort would be very effective and make an interesting image. For this type of image I would probably need to shoot outside at night for the image to be bright enough however this would not be a problem due to having my own camera. 

This photo was created by someone spelling out 'dream' using a sparkler, this is a very effective photo as I think the word is very clear and easy to read and I also like how they have used a sparkler rather than a torch as I feel that this fills the space in the photograph more because of all of the small sparks coming off of the writing. I would like to try and produce and image similar to this as I like how these images look. I realise it may be slightly difficult to replicate this due to the fact that the person writing this may need to write backwards or I could just flip the image in photoshop however I still feel that this would not be really easy. 

I like this image because rather than the photographer spelling out everything in the one image, they have traced each letter separately ad then put all of the images together in a multiple imagery. I think this is very good because the lighting in the images is often quite similar however not exactly the same giving the photo some more diversity. I also like how with some of these photos, you can see the person who is tracing the letters. My only criticism of this would be the fact that the bottom row of letters has more in than the other lines and I fell this would have been better if they were all even however I realise the photographer had to go by how many letter there were in the alphabet. 

Image Bank - Light Graffiti - Shapes

The images below are all examples of light graffiti, in my opinion these images are all very similar, I think this because all of these images are examples of light graffiti showing shapes, for example the heart. I like this type of image because I think it is a relatively quick image to take however I think it looks very effective. I also know that I would not find it very difficult to take images like these and would like to initially look at this type of image. The example of the stick men however would be slightly more difficult as I would probably need a few people to help me and it is also slightly difficult to do because the person drawing the stick man cannot see what they are drawing meaning that it may overlap. 

This image shows five stickmen drawn using light graffiti, the photographer has done this by slowing down the shutter speed and then getting somebody to draw the stick mean using a light of some sort, for example a torch.  The aspect of the image would not be very difficult however it may be slightly harder to create the image due to the person drawing the not being able to see what they are drawing and possibly having to take the image several time to get the best possible image. I would like to attempt to create something like this however I am not sure whether this would be possible of not. 

This image is done using a sparkler and by tracing the outline of a heart. I like this image because the background is very dark meaning that the light stands out well and the colouring looks very good. I also like how the camera has captured the sparks coming off of the parker and think this creates a very interesting photo. I would like to replicate an image like this because I think the style is very effective and would be easy enough to replicate.
