During this shoot I used my uv paint for the first time to replicate the style of Hid Said Neto, I feel that some of my shoot was very successful however I know that some photos were not as good as others. Due to doing self portraits, it was slightly difficult to take the photos as I could not see what I was photographing, so to get round this I put my camera on my smaller tripod on my desk and stood a mirror behind it, this made it slightly easier to see what I was doing however because of this still being very difficult, not all of my photos were in focus. My first attempt at applying the paint was not very good either meaning that there are not many photos from this shoot which I like very much however I changed the paint and I thought that this looked slightly better. I would never like to do a self portrait shoot again as I felt very uncomfortable however I would like to do a lot more shoots with other people as I think this style is very effective.
This is one of my photos from my first UV shoot, these photos are self portraits and although they were very difficult to take due to being unable to see the picture that I was taking and also needed to use manual focus due to being rather dark, I think these photos came out very well. In my opinion, this photo in particular is very effective because I think the composition is very good due to including some of the shoulder and there being paint there, and only showing half of my face. I also I like how with this photo, the paint on my cheek is smeared, adding a little more texture to the image.
This is another of my photos from this shoot, I am very happy with the composition of this image because there is no wasted space. With the composition, only half of my face is taking up the photo and the other half of the frame is taken up with my hair. I also think this image is very good because the colours all compliment each other very well, for example there are is a lot of orange on the eye, the cheek and also the lips and the hints of blue in the cheek compliment the blue and white spots on my cheeks.
Progression
In my next shoot I would like to apply UV paint to another model, I am going to research prior to the lesson some ideas of where and how I can apply the paint as I think this will mean I can apply it quicker meaning I can take a wider variety of photos. I do however know that I think the close up images are the most effective so will focus mainly on this type of photo.
